THE
ACEGAMEZ GUIDE TO E3 2008
Welcome
one and all to the videogame event of the year. E3 is back in
its old home in Los Angles and it’s the place where the biggest
showmen and dough-men in the industry come together to unveil
what you’ll be waiting for this year, next year and, if you’re
holding out for Duke Nukem Forever, possibly forever.
There’s
so much going on that it can get kind of confusing, but thankfully
we’ve taken the bright lights, glitz, glamour, blood, sweat and
tears and distilled them down so that you can get all the headline
news from the show in one place.

SOULCALIBUR
IV
Anyone
who's even slightly into fighting games has surely been awaiting
Soulcalibur IV with baited breath and hand on sword, ready to
dive into a frenetic and bloody ballet of outlandish attacks and
whirling steel.
It
certainly looks marvellous and there's real marketing clout behind
it - but while the Star Wars gimmick will surely be enough to
bring new fans into the fold, will they and hardcore fans alike
be pleased with what lies beneath the surface of this weapons-based
fighter? No need for a complicated combo to find out, simply click
below!

FERRARI
CHALLENGE TROFEO PIRELLI
When
it comes to sports cars that are as stylish on the outside as
they are powerful on the inside, surely the Ferrari brand is the
first that comes to mind.
With
Gran Turismo 5 still a distant speck on the horizon, Ferrari Challenge
is attempting to muscle in with a racing simulation that's all
about tough challenge, high realism and obsessive levels of detail,
a labour of love for racing and Ferrari fans alike. Does it succeed
in providing a superlative simulation though, and if so, is it
accessible enough for the casual gamer as well?

FACEBREAKER
PREVIEW
Okay,
let's calm down here. So my opponent probably weighs about the
same as a rhino and he's got skulls on the end of his gloves and
- oh great - now he's eyeballing me. All I need to do is float
like a butterfly and it'll be fine. Now if I could just get him
to get off my face, the plastic surgeon might be able to salvage
something.
The
above is an example of the regular thoughts you'll probably have
while playing FaceBreaker. Come inside for some more early insight
into EA's new boxing madness.

BIOSHOCK
PREVIEW
BioShock
finally makes its way to PS3, a whole year after it debuted on
360 and PC. But is this the definitive version?
With
no graphical improvements, 2K has focused on an all-new addition
to the BioShock formula - Challenge Rooms, which are separate
to the single player game, can now be played from the main menu,
comparable to the rooms from Portal in the way that they focus
on one puzzle at a time. Read on to see what else the game has
in store.
